Lady Anne Blunt, in Arab dress, 1907. Lady Anne Blunt (1873-1917) was the first western woman to cross the Nafud desert and the first to visit the town of Hail in Nejd, central Arabia. With her husband Wilfrid Scawen Blunt, they went in search of the thoroughbred Arab horse, which they introduced in the United Kingdom.
